Single Postsaver sleeve that seals a timber post at ground level, where rot starts. Choose shape and size; priced per sleeve ex VAT.

  • Heat-shrink sleeve with a thermoplastic sealant inner layer that seals the post at ground line, where rot starts
  • Dual layer: the inner sealant bonds to the timber and the tough outer barrier shrinks tight, protecting even if the timber cracks or moves
  • 350 mm long, for a 600 mm (2 ft) recommended burial depth, covering the first 150 mm below ground where decay happens
  • Independently tested by BRE over 25 years with zero failures; made to ISO9001
  • Fit in minutes with a 2 kW+ hot air gun or gas blowtorch (foam roller for square posts); suitable for setting in fence post concrete
  • Planed posts take the nominal-size sleeve: it shrinks to fit the finished post

About

Postsaver ground line sleeves protect timber posts at the point where they fail: the band just above and below the ground. Sold singly, so you buy exactly the number you need. For larger jobs, see our packs of 10.

Profile and fitting

Each sleeve is a 350 mm heat-shrink tube with a thermoplastic sealant inner layer. Slide it onto the post so it straddles the ground line, at 600 mm (2 ft) recommended burial depth. Heat it with a 2 kW+ hot air gun or blowtorch until it shrinks tight. On square posts, roll it down with a foam roller. Please click here for guidance.

Planed posts finish slightly under nominal, about 6 mm. Choose the sleeve for the post's nominal size: it shrinks to fit.

Grades and options

Round, half round, square and rectangular sleeves. Square sleeves go up to 175 x 175 mm and round to 250 mm. Please select the shape and size below.

Good to know
